Questions about international admissions counseling
Do international students apply to U.S. colleges differently than domestic students?
The core application (Common App, Coalition App, or a school's own portal) is largely the same, but international applicants face additional layers: transcript evaluation across different grading systems, English proficiency testing, visa classification, and often more limited financial aid and scholarship eligibility.
Can international students get financial aid at U.S. colleges?
Some can, but aid is far more limited for international applicants than for U.S. citizens and permanent residents, and a smaller number of universities offer need-based aid to non-citizens. We help families understand realistically which schools offer meaningful aid before building a list.
Do you work with students in IB, IGCSE, or A-Level curricula?
Yes. We regularly advise students in IB, IGCSE, A-Level, and other international curricula, and help translate their academic record clearly for U.S. admissions committees unfamiliar with a given grading or qualification system.
